About Me
Alex Mara is a board-certified nurse practitioner, as well as a board-certified Cardiovascular nurse practitioner. He has secured affiliations with multiple healthcare organizations, including Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, Sharp Grossmont Hospital, Alvarado Hospital, and Alvarado Parkway Institute. He holds a master’s degree in Nursing from West Coast University, an associate degree in Nursing from Kaplan College, and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology from the University of California, San Diego. He believes that healthcare today is changing. The practices of yesterday where patients come second to disease treatment is over. Today, patients come first. He has a strong belief in patient-centered care. He believes it means going beyond treating people, considering the whole individual, and offering patients the chance to guide their care. He believes in recommendations versus orders and treating the patient, not just the disease. Alex enjoys spending time with his family and going on vacation.
